Queens House April 12th. 1788 It seems extraordinary after I have so clearly pointed out that Colonel Hotham is the Channel through whom William ought to make his Applications that He still persists in employing Captain Elphinstone; but this remark is alone for Colonel Hotham. As £400 is the Sum the Captain alledges will procure the Necessaries now Stated by the Purser it will be best to fix them at that Sum and for Colonel Hotham to mention it is done according to the opinion given by that Captain. The Plate may be sent as soon as it is ready to Plymouth I suppose the Waggon will easily carry it. I shall in the Course of the next Week see the Colonel with the Accounts of a Quarter. G.R.
