Francfort Decber 15th 1838 My letter will not be a long one dear Augusta - but I am determined to write to inquire after Your foot, or leg, for I understand You are confined with it, & knowing You want your legs -- & deeply feeling for any one who suffers pain there - doubly so One I love as sincerely as I do You -- I expect a [[underline]] true faithful [[/underline]] & just account - I fear Your natural activity made you do too much at [[underline]] first [[/underline]] & thus has done You harm - I have been intending to write again as I promised, but really the [[unclear]] in must be my excuse - such quantities of letters for others, which tire me to death. favours asked which cannot be granted - wishing to oblige - & often offending - & Prince's, Princesses [[unclear]] worrying me with questions I cannot answer - none more than the question who will the Queen of England marry
