King for arming Scotland in his favour-- While the Scots were making preparations for the invasion of England in that country the indignation at seeing the military power prevail above the civil seemed to arouze all ranks of Men--While the fources were employed in all quarters the parliament regained its liberty, The members who had withdrawn returned; the vote of Non--addresses was repealed and commisioners five peers and ten commoners were sent to Newport in the Isle of Wight in order to treat with Charles--Nothing now remained to oppose the violent measures of the Army but the helpless King and parliament--They advanced at the same time and seizing the Person of the King conveyed him to Thurst Castle--from thence he was conducted to Windsor and London-- In the House of commons a committee was appointed to bring in a charge against the King declaring it treason in a King to levy war against his parliament and appointing a High Court of Justice to try Charles for this new invented treason The House of Peers without one
