[[underline]] Edward the 6th 1547 [[/underline]] Edward the 6th succeeded his Father Henry the 8th in 1547--as Edward was only nine years old and the late King had fixed the majority of his Son not till the completion of his eighteenth Year and the executors named Earl of Hertford Regent who was the Kings maternal Uncle and was strongly enterested in his safety. The Protector had long been regarded as a secret partesan of the reformers and he took care that all persons entrusted with the Kings education should be attached to the same principles.
