The Kings health had long been in a declining state, but for several days all those near him-- plainly saw his end approaching he expired in the night in the Year--1547--after a reign of thirty seven Years and nine months and in the fifty sixth Year of his age-- He possessed great vigour of mind courage, vigilance and-- inflexibility and these were accompanied by good parts and an extensive capacity, but all the same time he was cruel, unjust, obstinate & presumptious, It is extraordinary that notwithstanding his extortion and arbitrary administration, he not only acquired the regard of his subjects but never was the object of their hatred--His exterior qualities were advantageous and fit to captivate the multitude-- His Children were Edward the 6th Son to Jane Seymour, Mary Daughter to Catherine of Arragon and Elizabeth Daughter to Anne Boleyn.--
