Thomas Wolsey Dean of Lincoln surpassed in favour all his Minesters and was fast advancing towards that unrivalled grandeur which he afterwards attained-- In a short time Wolsey gained so much in the Kings favour that he even supplanted Surry and Fox Bishope of Winchester who had first introduced him to the Kings notice--During the intervals of amusements he introduced buseniss and insenuated those Maximes of conduct which he was desirous his Master should adopt-- Henry levied a numerous army and prepared to pass to Calais; Maxemilian instead of reinforcing the English Army with 8000 Men joined it with a few German and flemish soldiers and observing the English Monarch was more bent on glory than interest enlisted himself into his service and-- received an hundred Crowns a day as one of his subjects and Captains--The Cavalry of France in the approach of Henry and his Army were seized with so unaccountable a panic that they took flight and were pursued by the English; many Officers of distinction were made prisoners--This action is called the Battle of Guenegate, but more commonly the [[underline]] Battle [[/underline]]
