Henry the 3d called of [[underline]] Winchester 1216. [[/underline]] Henry the 3d succeeded his Father King John on the 28 of October 1216, when he was only nine years of age. The Earl of Pembroke was constituted his Guardian, & Protector of the Kingdom during Henry's minority. Lewis the Dauphin of France who had been crowned King of England during the reign of John, having received a large Sum of money returned into France - When Henry was of age he began by exacting large Sums of money and annulling the two sacred charters granted by his Father -
