Charles his Uncle was appointed Regent during his absence, which being conferred by the King he caused an Assembly of the Clergy to be called and they declared that no Appeal should be carried from Sweden to the King of Poland-- Segismund declared that these Resolution which had been taken without his knowledge were void--In comeing to Sweden he greatly displeased the People by trying to establish the Catholick Religion--Deputies were hereupon sent to Prince Charles to beg his interposition--
