[[note]] Monday 24 [[/note]] This Morning the Kg came up Stairs very early to tell me that He had received a Letter from Mr Pitt representing the Necessity of recalling the Duke of York. After Breakfast He gave me Mr Pitts Letter to read, & also read me His answer. Mr Pitts states in His Letter the urgency He feels in acquainting Him of the Necessity of recalling the Duke. That He has every reason to fear that He will be attacked in Parliament, which it will be out of His power to prevent. That the Complaints grow every Day more Strong against the Discipline of the Troops under the Dukes Command, & that the Dutch are wary
