In the Evening the Kg told me that the Lrd Chancellor assured Him upon His Honor that Mr Dundas was not the Person who Proposed [[deletion]] this Chang [[/deletion]] Lrd Cornwallis but that it was the Duke of Portland Solely, & His expression was, that the Duke was at Present so eager to do good to the Cause, that He was Convinced He looked upon ths Change as most advantageous [[deletion]] upon [[/deletion]] at the present moment.
