Mr. Willis was much struck with the King's recollection last night - He desired The Attendants might leave the room as he had something He was anxious to say to Him - On their retiring He told Mr. Willis that Dr. Willis had at times mentioned to Him something of a Parliament, & that Dr. John Willis had smiled. For Gods sake continued the King do tell Me, Is there really a Parliament or not - Mr. Willis told Him He might be sure, that during so great an Illness as He had Experienced, care had been taken of the Affair of Flute, but beg'd He would not at present think on such Subjects, as they might do Him harm. The King replied He would take his Advice, but added, that He had adjourned the Parliament, & therefore if it was now assembled, it was illegal - I find from Dr. Willis that H.My: still notwithstanding the new faces, continues too familiar with his Attendants & that He is as usual Endeavoring making them [[underline]] Friends. [[/underline]] These are among the unsettled Symptoms of the day, which are not known abroad, but which with Us on the Spot, indicate much as to the real state of the Mind.
