my attendance on His Majesty, viz that of [[underline]] 5 [[/underline]] Weeks at Windsor during the first progresses of his Illness, & [[underline]] 3 [[/underline]] Weeks now past of my Waiting at Kew. It was to see if I could set to rights Her Majesty's Stop Watch which had got into irregular striking. The Task was not difficult, & I was happy at my success. Her Majesty took this opportunity of enquiring from me respecting my Second Visit to The King in his Rooms. I gave Her some particulars which had then occur'd, & in as gentle a manner as I could-- After this I retired-- This Morning General Harcourt came to Kew-- Lady Harcourt was closeted with Him for some time, after which He saw the Queen, as did also Col: Goldsworthy. About dinner time Sir Lucas Pepys came & gave us some Account of the Examination of the Physicians before the Committee of the House of Commons. Doctor Willis arrived later. He had been in Attendance, but was not Examined this day, & was to attend again tomorrow-- Throughout this day The King continued in high Spirits but altogether calm. He had a project ot light up his Room more than usual this Evening, but this was not done-- [[underline]] Friday Janry 9th [[/underline]] The last night was a good one, & the King had between 5 & 6 hours good sleep, & during the rest of the night He lay composed & quiet. In the Morning however much of his usual state appeared. He now talked much of going an Airing this morning to [[underline]] Richmond Park, [[/underline]] & intimated that I was to go with Him-- He employed Himself in
