He desired me to sit down by Him, & told me how happy He was to have me again with Him, & added that I should now stay with Him until his Bed time. He then called to one of Doctor Willis's men who He shewed me [[underline]] as a Warwickshire man. [[/underline]] He then told Him to go round to me, & intercede, that I should make his peace for Him. He then continued talking to me on various subjects, tho' truly not with uniform consistency or wished propriety, for these would not have been his selected Topics had [[underline]] He been Himself. [[/underline]] The Queen was not now in favor but Lady Pembroke was. His clouded judgement now was running riot against that which Nature had blessed Him with in his unembarrassed days-- H. My. wished me to play a game of Piquet with Him. Not knowing the game much He gave me a lesson, afterwhich I played one game with H. My. I made this Observation during my Visit. Whenever Doctor Willis was out of the Room He rambled wildly on various subjects, but when the Doctor returned He turned the subject, played his Cards better, & talked more cautiously.
