till the year 1793 for reasons he then improperly explained, & such like extravagant & wild conversation. Much is it to be hoped, that whatever did pass at this interview, was not such as H.M. now represented it. Doctor Willis disbelieved it & denied it positively, & persisted in affirming that he had received the Queen very well. I wish however I had not heard the King say on the Queen leaving his apartment [[underline]] that she had swore she would be Esther. [[/underline]] The King continues for some time so violent after the Queen left his apartment that it was much apprehended that coercion could not be avoided. But the threat of it luckily pacified him in some degree, tho' not so much so, as to make his management [[addition]] otherwise than [[/addition]] difficult throughout the day, from the fear of his flying out at any moment. After that visit, his conversation was sadly alter'd from what it had been yesterday, & his manner was disturbed. The visit certainly had failed in its object, [[underline]] for it has done him no good. [[/underline]] He went to bed however at his usual time, & notwithstanding late flurries he passed a tolerable night & had 5 hours sleep. [[underline]] Monday Dec 29th [[/underline]] In the morning H.M. continued much the same as last night, he was agitated & quiet, and his conversation much bewilder'd. He refused to get up at his usual hour, & gave strong symptoms of being determined to be troublesome. A partial coercion of a few hours, checked much, & he got up about 2 of clock.
