Willis's laid great stress upon the correctness of the writing of this Order -- It was shewn at Night to The Queen & Dr. Willis got it again from Me saying He wished to shew it to The Chancellor. This reminds Me a stronger instance of H. M:ys. collected accuracy in ^ [[addition]] an [[/addition]] Early period of his Illness, & which was very marked, Even under much of its Severity - At Windsor when H. My. asked for his Account Books it was thought proper to keep them back from Him for fear of his puzzling Himself too much with Them. The King was disappointed at the refusal, & set to work to calculate by Himself what was wanted to pay the Workmen under Millikin his Gard'ner at Richmond, & the Board Wages of some of the Servants -- He made the Calculation & gave something more as a surplus to meet possible Exigencies - After this He wrote out a Draft on Mr Mathias in Scotland Yard for the sum of [[underline]] £200 [[/underline]] well drawn up, & signed, & which He then gave to General Grenville, with a list of the Payments He wished to be made from it - & after which He sent Him to Town to receive the Money - The General did receive the Sum thus drawn for; & found it very exact, & sufficient for its specified purposes & which had been calculated by H.My. thus, £100 for the Workmen under Millikin, & 4£ for the Board Wages -- This Evening H. My. played at BackGammon with Dr. Willis, & very much in his usual stile - While playing it appeared to Me singular, that He should play the game with tolerable correctness
