the King say so, [[underline]] but that Doctor Willis had told Him so, [[/underline]] & that [[underline]] at his request [[/underline]] He had kept out of sight tho' actually then in the room. On this different statement the conversation stopped & no steps were taken in consequence. This Morning the Earl of Galloway came to make his Enquiries -- He was in his way from Bath to attend the business in the House of Lords this night. I made Him the report of the day by telling Him that H.My. had been much out of order Yesterday but that He had slept 5 hours during the Night & that Dr. Willis thought Him better this morning - I afterwds. shew'd Him the Public Bulletin - At this time Dr. Willis Enter'd our Apartment & Lord Galloway made Enquiries from Him adding that He should be glad to be the bearer of good Tidings to his Friend The Chancellor who He should see that Evening -- on Lord Gallways going away Dr. Willis said to Him [[underline]] You may tell the Chancellor, that I have never yet seen H.My. so well as He is this day. [[/underline]] I was a little surprised at this message as H.M. tho' quiet was still very incoherent & incorrect in his conversations - The ideas are often good & correct, but they are strongly tumbled together & intermixed -- In the Evening The King received a Parcel of Spectacles which I had sent for in the Morning (by Dr. Willis's direction) from Mr. Adams H. Mys. Optician -- Dr. John Willis took Them in, & He was much pleased with the manner in which He tried Them -- after trying Them He wrote directions for the mounting of two Pair which He had now selected .
