The King instantly let go my hand & dropped all conversation with Me, & approaching the Page He accosted Him with placid good humour. & took Him round his room & shew'd Him the Alterations which had been made for his reception. I am well persuaded the poor Dear King thought He had found an opportunity of releasing Himself from this Apartment & that the intention arose suddenly from what appeared at the moment a favourable one. Assuredly He meant nothing Violent, & I am satisfied his Plan probably was to have rushed out from his own Apartment & made an Attempt to reach that of the Queen -- We staid with the King until half after 11 oClock & when We retired He was still fully resolved to put his project of tiring out his Pages in Execution. [[underline]] Sunday Novr. 30th. [[/underline]] This Night as We Expected was an Unpleasant one -- The King refused to go to bed & kept up, until near 4 oClock, when becoming turbulent & violent towards one of his Pages He was forced to his bed.
