but threw open the Doors on the opposite side to the Right & instantly the Apartment allotted for his occupation appeared ready & lighted up -- This Suite of Rooms consisted of an Antiroom in which His Pages were to watch. Beyond it was H.Mys. Bedchamber adjoining which & beyond it was a Spacious, Room above 40 feet in length - The Apartment looked to Kew Gardens. The King appeared by no means satisfied with his allotment in this part of the House - & seeing that many alterations had been made, He repeatedly asked who had ordered Them - Those which most particularly attracted his Notice were the placing of a Bed in this Apartment, and the addition of a New Water Closet to the room - These alterations & additions discomposed Him very much -- In a short time however He appeared more reconciled to Them & his New Abode -- We retired then, leaving H. My. to the immediate care of his Pages, as it had been our [[underline]] particular [[/underline]] Instruction not to remain with Him Ourselves beyond this Night - We were however desired to go in occasionally during the Evening if it should become necessary to assist in reconciling Him to the Change of his habitation -- In the course of the Evening General Harcourt Colonel Goldsworthy & Myself went into The Kings Apartment --We found Him under considerable Agitation & full of complaint at the change & He told General Harcourt & Myself that We had deceived Him tho in fact We certainly had not in any thing -- We had only
