In going through Brentford, (& at this time it was nearly dark) a Drunken Man hollowed out as the Carriage passed - The King mistook this, & thinking the Shout was intended against Him He observed to Us, that they often hissed Him as He passed this Town -- We assured Him that the hollowing had been from a drunken Man, & by no means intended as any disrespect to Him.-- [[underline]] Kew. On his Arrival He got out of the Carriage without hesitation, & without stopping He walked on through the Passage & the Hall leisurely -- Beyond the latter He quickened his pace & then making a run He attempted to go into the suite of Apartments on the left -- His intentions were baffled on finding the Door Locked, & He Evidently shew'd much disappointment - He had Expected He should have found the Queen & his Family at Dinner in those Apartments -- We gave Him no time to reflect on this circumstance
