From The Terrace The Royal Party went to The Castle - and afterwards to Saint George's Hall, to see the Effect on its being lighted up, preparatory to the Evening Fete -- We were conducted to it by His Majesty & through various dark Passages in The Castle, We reached The Hall -- On this occasion I had the honor of handing The Princess Royal up one of the narrow staircases [[underline]] in the dark, [[/underline]] & landed Her in safety, [[underline]] without one false Step. [[/underline]] The Hall was handsomely illuminated but some alterations at the time proposed, will improve its general Effect on Monday very much -- It was found that the Heat from so many candles, would be overpowering, & attention was now paid to counteract it --
