Going into the Kings room last Saturday, (the 7th. Sept)--Afternoon, I met Dr. Willis coming out--. He said Dr Heberden is reading the news paper to the King, and it has begun better than I expected. Being surprized that Dr Heberden, should think the King, in the state He was in that day, could attend to reading, I was desirous to without the effect of it, and it made a stronger impression on my mind, than the ordinary expressions of His Majesty, which are in general difficult to carry away, they are so copious & unconnected. Dr. Heberden was reading a paragraph respecting the [[unclear]] in meeting at Gloucester, under the patronage of the Duke of Beaufort & Land Rivers--. The King slept [[unclear]], and asked if we had heard how handsomely he Duke of Beaufort had behaved to him yesterday--We said the Duke had [[deletion]] desired [[/deletion]] [[addition]] ^ insisted on [[/addition]] His to taking the Title of Gloucester, and had given him his command of the two [[catchword]] Batallions [[/catchword]]
