Jan: 20. Monday. To the Q.C. In the course of yesterday at various times H:M: got altogether about 5 hours sleep -- While awake He spoke but little, & was in a very irritable state - He ate His breakfast & dinner & took His tea in the afternoon tolerably well: When the hour of bed was announced H:M: got into a violent passion, & it became necessary to undress Him by force. H:M: did not sleep during the night nor did He talk much, but He was almost constantly employ'd in adjusting the bed clothes -- Our interview this morning was very short -- H:M: refused to have His pulse felt, & dismissed us with excoriations -- The violence of this accession of disease has a good deal subsided - & it is probable that H:M: will soon return to His usual state of indisposition -- MB.
