Jany: 4th. Saturday P.72 - Little sensible effect from ye Calomel. To the Q.C: The K's demeanour throughout yesterday was influenced by the notion wch we stated as having then full possession of H.M.s mind - & the excitement wch this occasion'd was often accompanied by a degree of irritability wch threw Him into fits of unprovoked passion. H:M: seem'd engag'd all day long in entertainments given to the Company of His wild fancy - but He dined very well & went to His bed chamber at His usual hour without reluctance - There, however, a violent storm of anger arose -- H:M: has passed a quiet night tho He slept but an hour. At our interview this morning the K: was in good humour, but with a small portion of what was rational & reasonable in H:Ms: conversation we had occasion to notice a very large share of error and absurdity - HH Henry Halford M Baillie W Heberden J.
