Jan: 3. - Friday To the Q.C: -- We have not the satisfaction of being able to report any thing half so good in our interview with H:M: this morning as we found yesterday. The K: fancies this to be the birthday of one of His favo [[addition]] u [[/addition]] rites private- & the diseasd association produces considerable excitement, and & influences all His conduct - We attempted to dissolve the charm by a gentle correction of H:Ms: mistake as to the day of the month - but tho' the K: did not take the hint in ill part, it was in vain, & a concert in wch H:M: appeard to be engag'd at our introduction was proceeding when we left the room. H:M: slept 3 hours yesterday evening, & more than 3 hours in the night. - He dined well - & went to bed in good humour & we were pleas'd to hear H:M: say the Lord's prayer devoutly without His habitual omission of a most important sentence in it - but this good trait was preceded & follow by so much nonsense & absurdity as to take away almost all its value HH.
