Dec: 30. Monday. To the Q.C. H:M: pass'd yesterday quietly. He slept in the course of the day 4 hours, & while awake He talk'd mildly, in German & English, upon the usual subjects of His error. H:M: occupied less time at dinner than of late, & without any ceremony preceding it; but at end of dinner He threw down the table - H:M: went to bed a little before the usual hour by His own desire - & slept in the night about 2 1/2 hours. This morning at our interview He was in good humour - His conversation resembled that of a man who is intoxicated - & it was often mixed with His common distemper'd notions. -- MB.
