Nov: 8. Friday To the Queen's Council -- The King preserved His composure and tranquillity until after dinner yesterday. When this was announced H:M: said Grace audibly, & solemnly, and then observ'd all the rest of His religious ceremonies deliberately, crossing Himself on the forehead & breast, & mentioning the Favorites in whose names as well as His own, He ate the bread & drank the water & terminating the whole with an anthem. H:M: had not used any ceremonies of this kind the day before. At 3 oclock H:M: fell asleep and slept till ½ past 7 with an interval of ¼ hour only. We did not flatter ourselves that this would lead to sleep at night, & have not therefore
