witness'd. In the early part of the night H:M: did not sleep but talked a great deal, & very earnestly, in His usual irrational manner. After 3 oclock He slept about 3 ½ hours in two portions. This morning H:M: rec'd us partly in anger, & partly in apparent good humour. The interview was short. Amid yet a good deal that was wrong He told imperfectly a story about Ld Tyrawley with some humour. This shows that some of His faculties have not much fail'd but does not all indicate a main or more probable approach to a sane state of mind. Signd M Baillie R.
