Ly Liverpool's cake given to Ly C [[unclear]] take half a pound of very fine Sugar let it boil till it becomes a Syrup Take six eggs put them in a Basin take a whisk, & beat the Eggs & Sugar together at least for a quarter of an hour before a slow fire, then put it in a cool place, - then add six ounces of the best fine flower, keep it stirring all the time, till it is properly mixed, just one ounce of Seed - butter the moulds with clarified butter, strew a little fine Sugar over them, then put the Cakes in the moulds, & they are ready for the Oven. - Dr Saunders Febry 20th for a strengthening draught Infusion of Augustine Bark one ounce Tincture of Orange Peel two drams - mix for a draught to be taken daily at noon.- 203
