184 - Purges - the best & pleasantest purge for a nervous person given [[underline]] to me by Dr [[/underline]] Bailey when I hurt my head June 1806 take camphorated mixture .... 7 drachms Infusion of Senna .... 7 drachms Syrup of Saffron .... 1/2 a drachm mix for a draught to be taken twice a day Dr Pitcairn's Purge ordered me for a bilious Cough - Calomel 1 Grain Rhubarb - 4 Grains mixed with water enough to make one pill. this dose to be taken several nights, - if 1 Grain of Calomel does not purge sufficiently another must be added. - June 14th - 1806 the mild muriatic of quicksilver 12 Grains Compound Extract of Cathartic one drachm sufficient simple syrup to make them into 24 pills 2 or 3 of these to be taken occasionally at night for Bile. - Dr Cooke - 8ber 13th 1807
