164 Mr Phipps recipes for my Treasure's Eyes Febry 8th 1804 not an Inflammation but a Boil in the under part of the Pupil. for a Fomentation to be used 3 times a day 1 qrtr of an hour each time Extract of White Poppies - one ounce Elder flower Water two pints to be mixed (& warmed when used.) - & a Poultice of milk & Bread applied at night with a little Oil in it to prevent its getting hard. - For common use to strengthen the Eyes [[underline]] 10 [[/underline]] spoonfuls of Elderflower Water & [[underline]] 1 [[/underline]] spoonful [[underline]] of Eau de Cologne [[/underline]] mixed, bathe the Eyes regularly night & morning with the above.
