139 My Treasure's Throat - a gargle When the [[unclear]] comes down it is a sign of weakness, & relaxation - to prevent it, or correct it Take two table spoonfuls of Port Wine & mix them with four table spoonfuls of Water, in which you must previously have dissolved several grains of allum enough to make the Water taste rough then gargle with the above 3 or 4 times a day to rub the outside Four drams of Camphire, mixed in four table spoonfuls of the best sweet oil and in order to melt the Camphire [[deletion]] Dr Cooper [[/deletion]] let it first be mixed with a tea spoonful of Spirits of Wine - & then put the oil to it Dr Cooper. For a Cough Oxymel of Squills two small tea spoonfuls mixed with 8 or 10 drops of Laudanum in a small wine glass of Water, - or Milk & Water with sugar.
