138 Coughs & Throat - sore - &c &c as a Gargle for Inflammation half Brandy, & half milk. Ly Trimblestorn's recept for a Cough Slice a Lemon in a pint of Water with one Poppy head without the seeds, & thirty Grains of Saffron, boil this altogether until reduced to half a pint, - then strain it off & add six ounces of sugar candy & boil it to a syrup, take two or 3 teaspoonfuls going to bed, & whenever the Cough is troublesome Dr Grey for Pr. [[unclear]] Febry - 12th - 1811 - a Cough Saturated lemon juice - six drams Nitrous Ether half a dram, (or one dram) Paregoric 40 drops - Syrup of saffron one dram, - all mixed for a draught, - & one of these to be taken at noon, & in going to bed.
