92 Dr. Thorley's receipt for my Treasure April/98 for a cold - & feverish Cough half a dram of Nitre - or 30 Grains four ounces of Water - or about 8 spoonfuls - One dram of Magnesia - or 60 grains - mix them with Sugar & give him of this two table spoonfuls several times a day [[underline]] 1 [[/underline]] dram, or [[underline]] 60 [[/underline]] Grains, of Nitre in half a pint of Water with [[underline]] 2 [[/underline]] drams of Magnesia mixed together & sweetened with honey [[deletion]] & [[/deletion]] or Sugar, & give this to Treasure [[underline]] 3 [[/underline]] or [[underline]] 4 [[/underline]] times per day - Dr. Rowley - July 7th 1798 a dose of Physic, & then James's Powder is the best method of stopping any cold, fever, & inflammatory heat in its first beginning
