72 For the Gravel - Stone Salt of Tartar, or Lixivium of Tartar - is excellent for the Gravel - 'tis a late discover - but it taken in large quantities becomes extremely prejudicial to the Stomach - as it burns up its Coat being a strong Caustic - 10 Grains or drops per day is quite sufficient taken in any other medicine. -- If there be much pain from Gravel, or Stone - from [[underline]] 10 to 20 [[/underline]] drops of Laudanum may be taken - but perhaps an injection of [[underline]] 70, or 80 [[/underline]] in a little Water, or Barley Water may be of use. put one ounce of French Juniper Berries into half a pint of Geneva (good) let them infuse for 5 or 6 days, - occasionally shaking the Phial, - take half a Wine Glassful of this in a Glass of hot Water, & Sugar - going to Bed. -- Dr. Grey
