61 for an Inflammation of the Throat proceeding from a violent cold, as a Gargle, - Take an Equal quantity of Milk, & Brandy mixed. - a specific agst contagious disorders, invented by the celebrated french physician Guyton Take Tea Salt - 4 ounces (four ounces) Oxid of Manganese - six Grains Water two ounces - Vitriolic acid - two ounces. The Manganese in powder mixed with the Salt in an Earthen Vessel, then the Water, & afterwards the Vitriolic Acid, - one fumigation might suffice if the Chamber be not inhabited by the sick Person.
