56 Throat When the mucus of the Throat is gone, & that cold, &c have made it prickly, &c, take Thick Barley Water, & Gum Arabic mixed & drink this often To stop an immediate sore throat from whatever cause -- Dr. Fothergill Put upon rather a large lump of sugar as much Brandy as it will contain, & let the Sugar so wetted melt by slow degrees in yr mouth, & the gradual descent of the Brandy in the Throat will cure the soreness. -
