53 Coughs given to my Treasure in 797 - Febry 27th Syrup of diacodium (or poppies) half an Ounce Syrup of Sugar (that is sugar & Water) 1 ounces & 1/2 - Vinegar of Squills - two tea spoonfuls. - of this take a Tea spoonful 3 or 4 times a day. - another A table spoonful of Linseed a Pint of boiling Water a desert spoonful of Nitre a Cake of Spanish Liquorice called ^ [[insertion]] Pomfret cakes [[/insertion]] & let them all Simmer together for half an hour, of this take a small Wine glass every two hours.
