41 [[underline]] Throat [[/underline]] Tincture of Bark is very proper, & cannot heat too much, bathing at the time is very improper, but air & exercise are very advantageous. -- For a sore throat from cold Take half [[insertion]] a [[/insertion]] Cap full of Milk, & half a Cupfull of Brandy, mixed - to gargle with dr. dick. when the sore throat 1st comes [[deletion]] on [[/deletion]], take a lump of Sugar, wet it with Brandy & put it in yr mouth letting it melt by degrees. -- Dr. Pitcairn
