[[underline]] 15 [[/underline]] -- [[underline]] Whooping Cough & [[/underline]] others -- The forgoing remedy may be used in this [[unclear]] Cough, but a little Rhubard, & Cremor Tartar should be given every other Morning. -- [[underline]] 8 [[/underline]] drops of Vinegar of Squills in water is proper 3 times a day. -- For [[unclear]] Coughs 1 Tea spoonful of Paregoric Elixir 30 drops of hartshorn & (or a teaspoonful of Sal Volatile) 3 Table spoonfuls of water, all mixed together & taken 3 or 4 time a day for a grown person it is sometimes better to put [[underline]] Sal Volatile [[/underline]], That Hartshorn, because it destroys the Opium of the Paregoric Elixir, but then there must be an equal quantity of the paregoric[[underline]], or Sal Volatile [[/underline]] For my Boys Cough Janry / 94 when he was taken ill of the inflamation on his lungs - Oil of sweet almonds - 1 ounce & half, - Water of Kali, 16 drops; Water four ounces; Salt of Nitre one scruple simple syrup as much as is sufficient, - give a desert spoonful when the Cough is troublesome. --
