[[underline]] 8 [[/underline]] Grown Up People If an inflammatory fever should arise, Saline draughts are proper every four hours. -- But if the Fever be of a putrid tendency which is commonly know by its being more infectious, & the Tongue becoming of a brownish colour, then Bark & the Acid ^ [[insertion]] Elixir [[/insertion]] of Vitriol will be proper - From ten to twenty Grains of the former, and from [[underline]] 18 [[/underline]] to [[underline]] 10 drops of the latter, - Taken every four hours after the Bowels have been opened. -- N.B. As the Elixir of Vitriol in England is different from that abroad, it is necessary to observe [[underline]] 5 [[/underline]] drops of the English [[underline]] and Elixir of Vitriol [[/underline]] is enough for a Child in a putrid scarlet fever, with decoction of Bark. --
