sympathetic that if one of us happens to get into a crying mood at a certain period of the year the whole family will be in tears for Weeks to come. - Further in our visits we are so capriciously received that we have much ground of just complaint, - Some are polite enough to say they never exist but in our presence, others consider us such intruders that they can undertake no serious business till we are gone; -- yet it is in their power to releive themselves, tho' it must allow'd that we are somewhat persevering in our attempts to secure a reception; & we are daily found guilty if we cannot gain admittance by the door of forcing an entry at the window. This is not however to be imputed to any impertinence of ours, but to the injunction of our parent, & the irresistible impulse of our natures, yet upon this very principle
