[[/underline]] -- The heart that has forgotten to hope enjoys only thro' the medium of the senses When I saw thee, when I heard, & embraced thee, then I felt again what was happiness -- but [[underline]] then [[/underline]] only -- all on this side, or that side, of the moment of real communion is illusion illusion fit for the creation of hope -- but the damps of sorrow, have quenched the sanguine spirit of hope, that could once cheer & illume my mind.
