My dear Lord - I cannot resist assuring you & Lady Bridport with what indignation I have read of the Duke of Clarence's appointment to be Admiral of the Fleet - The Service I know always spoke of it as your right & just reward & will I am certain gennerally feel it as I do. If the Prince insisted upon it Mr Yorke should had let him bear the disgrace of the appointment & would have done himself Honor in resigning : but I fear He paid his court at the expence of the Service - - - I will not longer dwell upon this but assure you how glad I felt that Lady C Hood was safe tho I wish it had been a Son & pray that you my Lord may live to see your Honors descend as you would wish - - - I have unluckily never
