this sad accident should have happened within one and twenty miles of the end of our journey is hard indeed: but with the kind and affectionate attention of my family towards the Dutchess I trust all will go on to her entire satisfaction in this country: however you cannot be surprized I should feel this melancholy state of things: I am cautious what I write till I can send my letters under cover of one of our ministers abroad: but I have not any reason to complain of the state of my own concerns in any respect since my arrival here: on the contrary I find an inclination from all quarters to be civil and kind: perhaps however I must regret the cause of our remaining here eventual advantage may arise
