woods among the mountains having left the river Fulda and following the course of the river Vera: we spent our time most agreeably at Wildeck in walking and viewing the beautiful scenery the ladies riding on asses as much as the excessive heat would permit: yesterday we took leave of the excellent Landgraff and the amiable Landgrave and continuing on the Vera reached Meiningen about seven: the Dutchess has enjoyed herself amongst the different relations she found at Rothenbourg and Wildeck and was of course overjoyed to find herself with her mother and at her native place: Your Lordship cannot be surprized at the universal satisfaction expressed by all ranks at the return of the Dutchess to Meinungen and the meeting was very natural on both sides: the Castle is large and magnificent and the floor on which we are lodged has only seventeen rooms in a suite:
