Decr. 25th. 1803 The King has this morning received Mr Secretary Yorke's Note accompanied by the Letter from The Earl of Derby Enclosing the application of the Colonels of the Regiments of Lancashire militia that they may be allowed in future to bear in the Colours of their Respective Regiments the Red Rose, the Antient Badge of the County Palantine. The Zeal shewn by this Corps, & the has from Personal attachment of that County, to the Kings Person makes Him most willingly consent to this Distinction, which they most fully deserve. George R.
