Lewisburg. Augst. 12th: 1826. Dear Sir, I enclose two letters and one is the letter I have been requested by Merewether to write to Augustus which I wish may have the desired effect. On consideration as the fence that is to be put up for the alteration in the Pleasure ground at Bushy cannot be finally finished this season I recommend to Mr: Jesse the propriety of compleating the colouring round the East and South Fronts at the same time next spring when the East Front will be laid up and the fence for the alteration in the Pleasure Ground can only be finally painted. But of that he is the best judge. I have this instant letters up 28th July and am surprized I have not one from Barton with the result of his visit to you
