rejoice for the sake of the quiet of the country the Elections are nearly over. Lord De Tabley must be a very happy man. The heat is excessive but wholesome and I shall be glad to remove from this place made so hot by all these [[unclear]] springs. However, I like and admire Ems. The prospect of plenty along these rivers is very promising and the people here say the autumn will be long and beautiful and the vintage peculiarly fine. The grapes are just coming into flower. I hope the lamps in the East and North Fronts are down and will not be put up again before Michaelmas. I suppose my daughters will write. I have not any news as the people here are entirely engaged with pleasure and their own health. The place is very full and very beautiful. Plenty of French lamenting
