I am glad you and Merewether accompanied Augustus to Portsmouth and wish he had returned with you two as he ought. I hope with the fêtes at the Upper Lodge during the Epsom and Ascot weeks with your short expedition to Portsmouth and the attentions of Sr: W. Waller and Lady [[unclear]] thro' July and August with the recollection of Pope and together with the painters outside Bushy House
