the gardener and I hope will continue to be a good servant: you were quite right in reading to the Keeper and Bailiff parts of my letters which concern them both and I trust this advice and my presence will keep them in good order and humour: I believe you judge of the characters of both correctly and that bad temper is the chief mischief: however I must not suffer: I like Elphick and Coates and trust the Farmer in future will remain more at home: adieu and ever believe me, Yours sincerely William
